'The Wrestler' Scores at Spirit Awards

Mickey Rourke's comeback movie 'The Wrestler' won top honors at the Spirit Awards on Saturday.

'The Wrestler' picked up the Best Feature award and Rourke won for Best Male Lead at the event, which celebrates the best in independent filmmaking. French camerawoman Maryse Alberti won for Best Cinematography.

During a long expletive-laden acceptance speech, the 56-year-old Rourke thanked director Darren Aronofsky and his costar, Marisa Tomei, whose name he momentarily forgot. He also recalled being arrested by local police 10 years ago and dedicated his award to his beloved Chihuahua Loki, who recently passed away. Aronofsky said backstage it was great that Rourke is getting so much recognition. "I didn't realize how many closet Mickey Rourke fans there were. That's been the biggest surprise of the whole trip."

'Vicky Cristina Barcelona' won two awards: Best Screenplay for director Woody Allen and Best Supporting Female for Penelope Cruz's performance in the comedy-romance. James Franco won Best Supporting Male for his performance in 'Milk,' while Melisssa Leo won Best Female Lead for 'Frozen River.'
