‘Grown Up’ Mary J. Blige Donates Designer Clothing to Hurricane Victims

Mary J. Blige is cleaning out her closets and sending boxes of designer clothes to victims of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, Louisiana in an effort to “grow up.” The R&B star fears she’s collected mountains of clothes she rarely wears over the years and now she’d like others, more in need than she, to get the full use out of the coats, gowns, shirts, shoes and trousers.

She says, “I’m trying to grow up in that area because, at the end of the day, all you’re going to do is send away a bunch of Dolce (& Gabbana) and Prada boots that you’ve worn once and now you don’t want to wear it anymore. It’s a waste of money for me unless it’s something that I gotta have - and then I go and get it.”
