Woman in Morgan Freeman Crash: I'm Not His Mistress

A woman who was riding with Morgan Freeman the night of a serious car crash denies she was ever romantically involved with the actor.

Demaris Meyer filed a lawsuit today in Mississippi Federal Court. She's suing for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages and permanent disability due to short-term memory loss stemming from the August accident that caused his car to flip over, sending them both to the hospital.

Rumors circulated that the pair was dating because Freeman and his wife of 24 years, Myrna Colley-Lee, announced their divorce days after the crash. They'd been separated since December 2007.

But Meyer and her lawyer, Gloria Allred, held a press conference today where Meyer announced she's "just friends" with the 71-year-old Oscar winner.

Can you believe these stars dated?

Meyer said she met Freeman the night of the crash at a dinner party. The actor invited her to stay at one of the three homes on his property so she "would have an easier drive to work the next morning," the Associated Press reports.
