Word, America?
So, for some reason unbeknown to me-- "Madea Goes to Jail" is taking the country by storm. Since it's release two weekends ago, it's grossed over $65 million-- including $16 million just this week! It remains the #1 movie in America right now. I really am mystified at how much people eat up this coonery, smh. I respect and admire Tyler Perry a great deal. He IS the American dream. He went from a homeless man to a multi-million dollar media empire. You gotta love it. I have supported such films as, "Why Did I Get Married", and "The Family That Preys", but I can't bring myself to support the buffoonery that is the Madea series'. God bless him, but I just can't. It's all good though because 65 million Americans can.... And that's not even counting the bootlegs! LOL
