NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Britney Spears is bringing her circus act to the stage Tuesday night.

The pop star is kicking off her first tour in five years with "The Circus" tour. New Orleans Arena is the first stop on the 27-city nationwide tour.

The tour marks yet another step as Spears rehabilitates her image and her career after an extended downward spiral. So far, it's worked: She's got a platinum album with her recently released "Circus" CD and two hit singles.
