Rick Springfield Introduces First Kids’ Album, My Precious Little One
Grammy Award-winner and General Hospital alumn Rick Springfield is back on the musical scene with a new album of original lullabies called My Precious Little One ($12). Available exclusively on Amazon.com as both a CD and digital download for eight weeks, beginning March 10, 2009, the album includes songs written “during the heady days of brand new fatherhood” when his now twenty year old sons were babies. Rick says, “As a songwriter, I wanted to do something to commemorate the birth of our children and since neither of them were good sleepers, it seemed like a good idea to write lullabies.”

It’s a good thing the album is meant to put children to sleep because I found the songs to be musically monotonous with low production synth musical accompaniment. It’s a shame because the lyrics are interesting and Rick can still belt it out. Jesse’s Girl fans may not care as much and be happy to listen to the dulcet tones as their children drift off to sleep.
