Some prominent names at this premiere including Sarah Ferguson Duchess of York and her daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice. Cast at the premiere included both actresses Emily Blunt and Miranda Richardson.

Star of the premiere in red carpet terms for us was the lead actress who plays Queen Victoria in the film and that was Emily Blunt…….she simply dazzled.

The Plot:

Quite simple in plot terms, the film follows the early part of  Queen Victoria’s life and her early days as Queen and her romance with the then Prince Albert.

Period dramas seem to be pretty much the in thing lately with Natalie Portman in “The Other Boleyn Girl” and Keira Knightley in “The Duchess” which achieved at least reasonable box office success. This trend looks set to continue.

Rating

Not enough material seen to rate the film in any solid terms, but critic reviews from leading respected sources are leaning towards a decent performance from Blunt and ratings are leaning towards neutral which means for the average person in the street this will pan out as a reasonable film to see from our experience, if indeed period drama romance films are your thing.  Trailer based rating from us is of a reasonable 3 stars out 5 and worth a look.
