Norah Jones Manages to Resist Jude Law’s Charm

The film marks Norah’s acting debut, and she wasn’t quite ready to make out with Jude when the time came.

Speaking on the opening day of the 60th Cannes Film Festival, Norah said: “I was very nervous and excited at the same time. The director asked me to do it and I went into it totally blind. As soon as I saw the cast list I thought ‘What am I doing?’ It was very real.

“But on the second day Jude came in and he was really encouraging.

“On my first take with him my voice was really high.

“We had to do the kissing scene and from that moment the director, Wong Kar Wai, was so excited.

“He made us shoot the kiss for a long time.”

“My Blueberry Nights” is about ” a young woman who takes a soul-searching journey across America,” with Norah playing the lead role. The film’s director, Wong Kai Wai, recently admitted Norah was the only actress he considered for the role.
