According to a criminal complaint, Evans Pidhajecky (Pid-uh-CHEK'-ee) of Oyster Bay, Long Island, claimed Michaels overheard his comedic material and used it without permission.
The complaint says the 32-year-old tried to contact Michaels several times at his home and at NBC's Manhattan studios.
Defense lawyer Jack Litman said Pidhajecky wanted to speak to Michaels, but never stalked Michaels or committed any crime.
Criminal Court Judge Robert Mandelbaum ordered Pidhajecky to undergo therapy twice a week for six months. He must also "stay completely away" from Michaels.
