American Idol Season 8 Top 13 Review and Predictions

Tonight’s show started out pretty well with Lil Rounds. I couldn’t get over Paula Abdul’s face at first though. It looks like she may have had some Botox injections because her face seemed a little frozen.
Here is the review for the Top 13 Idol Wannabes and a prediction of who’ll get the boot tomorrow:

  1. Lil Rounds - seems very comfortable on the big stage - pretty good performance. Not sure what Simon Cowell meant when he said “a bit of a lazy song choice” - I thought the song choice showed some personality.
  2. Scott McIntyre - boring song choice…yawn!
  3. Danny Gokey - awesome! loved the performance - one of the best singers on Idol so far
  4. Michael Sarver - okay singer, but boring song…seemed so serious
  5. Jasmine Murray - so predictable! I knew she’d pick “I’ll Be There” - I’ll say it again, she’s lucky she’s pretty and young!
  6. Kris Allen - okay performance, but nothing spectacular. I agreed with Simon when he said the song didn’t really seem to fit the guitar, because it seemed a little drowned out. I also agreed with Simon’s thoughts on bringing the wife out so early. All the little girls might just choose to vote for another guy now.
  7. Allison Iraheta - hated the song, but for 16, she can sing pretty well!
  8. Anoop Desai - so disappointing! I hate to say this, but that was one of the cheesiest performances on Idol yet. Boo for Anoop!
  9. Jorge Nunez - terrible song choice, nothing original about the performance even though he has a decent voice
  10. Megan Joy Corkery - corny - she’s lucky she’s pretty! Not sure why she chose that song…
  11. Adam Lambert - I find his voice SO annoying, but he has great stage presence and seems to be the judges’ fave right now.
  12. Matt Giraud - beautiful voice. I agree with Kara DioGuardi or Paula (not sure who said it) that he kinda has the Justin Timberlake vibe going on.
  13. Alexis Grace - sounded like something I could’ve heard at a club or a bar…not great.

Prediction of who’ll be getting the boot tomorrow:

  • Anoop Desai
  • Jorge Nunez (wi would be Michael Sarver instead, but I believe Jorge didn’t do himself any favors by doing what he did tonight).

  • This season is soooo boring. The singers as well as the judges. A change in the judges would be great, they are soooo predicable, you get tired of Randy's baby this and baby that and it is Simon's role to be the cricical judge, Paula - what is wrong...

    • The judges have Adam picked as he is current. I hate the fact that being a faggot is current. I hope the american public is still above this. He is an o.k. singer, but that is it. caberet style future at best... i hope.
