Prince William spoke at an event about his sense of loss after losing his mother, the much-loved Princess Diana, at the age of only 15.

People.com reports that William spoke at an event for the British organization Child Bereavement Charity, and told the assembled crowd: "Never being able to say the word 'Mummy' again in your life sounds like a small thing. However, for many, including me, it is now really just a word - hollow and evoking only memories."

According to People, William told the crowd, some of whom were parents who had lost a child, in solidarity: "Losing a close family member is one of the hardest experiences anyone can endure."

The organization has a new campaign that attempts to raise awareness for how to be of assistance to grieving parents when Mother's Day rolls around, People reports.
