Tyra Banks and America’s Next Top Model Has Chaos, Stampede, Arrests and Injuries

Tyra Banks and America’s Next Top Model had chaos, a stampede, injuries and arrests over the weekend. Overall, another normal day in New York City!  The show was hosting auditions over the weekend when one incident triggered a chain of events which led to the bedlam.

More pictures after the smoke…

Tyra and producers were inside of Park Central New York Hotel and thousands of model wannabe’s waited outside.   You know how a crowd gets while they wait…tired, cranky, hungry, irritable and well, bored of waiting with other people who might get their spot in the limelight.  A car overheated nearby and some people yelled fire.  People farther up in line yelled bomb and then someone else yelled he’s got a gun.  All the makings for a disaster when thousands of people are around.  From Yahoo! News:

“It was pretty scary,” Jessica Paravati told WNYW-TV. She said she was caught up in a stampede after waiting on line overnight, hoping for a shot at stardom on the reality show.

Two women and a man were arrested on disorderly conduct charges, police said. Authorities also shut down the audition, saying it wasn’t properly organized.

Four injured people declined treatment, while two others were taken to a hospital, the fire department said. Their conditions weren’t immediately available.

Tyra has expressed worry over the violence surrounding her auditions.  Hmmm.  I wonder what will happen next….hopefully, more security and orderly auditions!
