Alex Rodriguez on Madonna: I Respect Her

Alex Rodriguez sets the record straight about his relationship with Madonna and how they first met.

 

"Well, we're friends," the ball player tells Details magazine. "She's an amazing entertainer. And it's been amazing how she's been able to stay on top for three decades. I have a lot of respect for her."

A-Rod says he has sought her counsel over the years, calling her "smart" and "passionate about everything she does." "If there ever was any situation, she's a great ear to have," he tells the publication.

Though many presume the two met through their representation, Guy Oseary, Alex says that was not the case. "I met her about 12 years ago in Miami, believe it or not. … I was trying to buy her house, and I couldn't afford it."
