'American Idol' Recap: Alexis Grace Ousted?

Alexis Grace was up for elimination on Wednesday night's "Idol" after receiving the lowest number of votes among her fellow competitors. But did she impress the judges into letting her stay in the competition with their new "Save" power? Read on to find out!

Alexis found herself in this week's bottom two with Michael Sarver. But after Michael was declared safe, Simon Cowell revealed to Alexis: "You were the one we were thinking about saving, so it's all going to come down to this performance now."

Introduced just last week, the "Judges' Save" allows the judges to rescue one contestant from elimination up until the Top 5. The judges' vote must be unanimous, and they can only save one singer during the entire season.

With her "Idol" fate on the line, Alexis launched into an inspired rendition of Dolly Parton's "Jolene." But was her performance strong enough to win the judges' vote?

"We're kind of unanimous on this," Simon said. "It was good. But it wasn't good enough. Sorry." And so, the 21-year-old from Memphis was definitively ousted from the competition.

Wednesday night's show wasn't all heartbreak. Brad Paisley belted out his new single, "Then," and Carrie Underwood and Randy Travis traded vocals on a duet.

  • I can't believe a outstanding singer and performer like Alexis Grace is out and Megan, who can't sing at all is in the top ten

  • I don't like the way she sang the song she sang. But she has a beaurtiful voice. I feel she ruined Dolly's song.

    Good luck!!
