Michael J. Fox to Oprah: Parkinson's 'Doesn't Define Me'

Michael J. Fox says that he doesn't want Parkinson's disease to define who he is.

"I'm a dad, I'm a husband, I'm an activist, I'm a writer and I'm just a student of the world," he tells Oprah Winfrey on her show that airs Tuesday. "This is one fact of my life, but it's not the totality of my life. It doesn't define me."

Fox describes living with Parkinson's is "like having a 4-year-old climbing on you all the time, and so whatever you're trying to do, you've got this 4-year-old and you're ... just trying to be patient and focus on what you need to do."

The former prime time star is promoting his new book, Always Looking Up, which reveals how his diagnosis helped him see challenges as opportunities.

  • I think that Mr Fox. should look into ayurvedic treatments, I have read that there are many natural remedies that can help him, and others with this. I think he is a great inspiration to all.
