"This guy kind of committed suicide," Grant told People magazine. "He's a nice man. I've met him quite a few times. But I think he should have gone about it differently."
Grant, a British 'Bachelor' who also ultimately ended his engagement to Shayne Lamas last July and is now dating his publicist Sarah Robarts, tells People he does give Mesnick credit for owning up to his mistake:
"Ultimately, he had the [guts] to say, 'I screwed up.'"
On "The Bachelor: After the Rose Ceremony" reunion show, Mesnick told his visibly shaken fiancée Melissa Rycroft that he still had strong feelings for contestant Molly Malaney, who he eliminated in the show's finale.
Mesnick and Malaney are now in a relationship, and Rycroft is now a celebrity contestant and top pick on ABC’s "Dancing with the Stars."
