After a 15 years on television the final episode of "ER" aired on Thursday night.

Current cast members reunited with some former "ER" stars including Alex Kingston, Eriq La Salle, Noah Wyle, Laure Innes, and Sherry Stringfield.

The two hour finale was an emotional one as an old man watched as the woman he had loved since grade school passed away, and a mother died after giving birth two twin girls.

The final episode left a glimmer of hope for the hospital's legacy and the fans of "ER" as Rachel the daughter of Anthony Edwards' character, Dr. Mark Greene, decides to follow in her father's footsteps in the medical field.

The acclaimed medical drama received 122 Emmy nominations during it's 15-year run between 1994 and 2009.

  • surprised ER has lasted as long as it has but some people obviously like it. American Idol is another one that surprises. TV hospitals, doctors, nurses are nothing like real life where doctors, nurses make huge mistakes hurting patients, hospitals...

  • That trash lasted far too long. Good riddance. Now just take off the 8 billion cop/lawyer and reality shows and TV might just be worth watching again.

Eh...nevermind. It'll still be dumbed down for the moronic masses.

  • ER is too good of a show to cancel. I watch it every week and will miss it a lot. They have so many stupid thirty minute comedies on tv that i never watch. ER is a drama with heart, and it's a shame they pulled the plug on such a great show.
