Denzel Washington Helps Save Boys & Girls Club

A generous donation from Denzel Washington helped save a Boys & Girls Club that was reportedly expected to close.

While filming his new action flick 'The Book of Eli' in New Mexico, Washington donated $50,000 to the Roswell Boys & Girls Club, after hearing reports that the club was in danger of closing due to financial woes, says the Associated Press.

The two-time Oscar winner and Boys & Girls of America spokesman also urged Roswell residents to contribute, and the club's director says he's since received $5,000 in donations.
