"It's a good thing I ripped my dress because now I have something else to think about," an overwhelmed and tearful Julianne told the audience as she accepted her award for Top New Artist.
Later on in the show, Carrie accepted the awards for Top Female Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year, beating Kenny Chesney who has taken home Entertainer of the Year four years in a row.
Taylor Swift also had an exciting night performing twice, once with Brooks & Dunn in the opening of the show and reappearing another time in a David Copperfield illusion, of which she sang afterward. Taylor was then presented with an award from ACM host Reba McEntire for being the top-selling artist in country and pop music.
Nicole Kidman's husband Keith Urban was amongst the performers of the evening, in addition to Carrie and Miley Cyrus. Other celebrities to show up at the ACM Awards included Matthew McConaughey, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jamie Kennedy.
