Mompreneur Rhonda Sparks is the creator of UV Skinz - sun protective swim shirts as seen right here on Eden Mahoney, one of Marcia Cross’ twins. Rhonda created the company after her husband Darren, who was only 32-years-old, died from skin cancer. Amidst her grief, Rhonda researched skin cancer and learned that just one severe sunburn during a child’s first 15 years could double the chance of developing skin cancer as an adult.
Rhonda’s loss inspired her to create UV Skinz, sun protective swim shirts that carry a UPF rating of 50+, which block out over 98% of the sun’s harmful rays, protecting delicate skin from damaging sunburns. Sunscreen isn’t always enough, is often used incorrectly, and may be irritating to some skin types. UV Skinz use breathable fabrics that are silky soft to the touch and have no chemicals, irritating seams, or appliqués that may bother the skin.
