Next week, tough guy Jason Statham returns in Crank 2, Russell Crowe and Ben Affeck find intrigue in State of Play, and Zac Efron is 17 again.
New this week:
Hannah Montana: The Movie
Tween girls will flock to it. Reviews are pretty much what you’d expect. Girls will love it. Moms will be mildly entertained. Boys and dads will role their eyes. Enter at your own risk.
Observe and Report
A strange looking movie. The trailer is not really funny, which reflects the film tone. And reviews have been all over the board. Some absolutely adore it. Others find it simply boring. A must see at some point, whether on video or in the theater just to judge for yourself. This film, like director Jody Hill’s first movie (Fist Foot Way), features an unlikeable protagonist and looks to be one of those cult films people love or just don’t get (just like Fist Foot Way).
Dragonball Evolution
This looks appropriately silly and uninspiring, and reviews and reactions are along those lines. Young boys will find it interesting, but most adults will see it as a step above Power Rangers.
