Kate Walsh Files New Divorce Papers

"Private Practice" star Kate Walsh filed amended divorce papers on Monday in response to the divorce petition filed last December by her estranged husband Alex Young. "The Insider" has the details.

In the court papers obtained by "The Insider," Walsh declares the couple's date of separation to be November 17, 2008. The actress is also asking to terminate the court's ability to award spousal support to Young.

As for the reason for their split, Walsh lists "irreconcilable differences" as the cause.

Young filed for divorce late last year, and a rep for the pair told "The Insider," "Papers have been filed to amicably end the marriage of executive Alex Young and actress Kate Walsh. The couple remain on friendly terms and sincerely hope the media will respect their privacy during this difficult time."

In the divorce papers filed by Young, the date of separation is listed as November 22, 2008 -- five days later than the date Walsh listed in her response.

Walsh and Young wed in September of 2007.

  • I worked for Kate Walsh. She had five car accidents in a couple of years due to her drinking. She is so afraid of being alone she dates both men and women. She put caps on her cats feet so they would not ruin her furniture... Where is PETA when you...

  • That's a really good point anonymous. I see all these stories out there about her drinking and going to AA meetings. It seems to me she has a really big problem. Maybe that's why her husband divorced her. Maybe she wouldn't get help. After all......

  • This story is such a joke! As someone who actually works with Kate on Private Practice, I can tell you she is one of the most awful people on the planet! She has had wild screaming fits on set; shown up drunk; and had the craft services company...
