"Evidently, Mr. Sadow prefers media pronouncements to trial preparation. My office, the Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement, spent two years carefully investigating the facts and presented them to the Los Angeles District Attorney, who independently reviewed the matter before bringing the charges. As Sadow knows, once the police investigators are finished, the matter shifts to the prosecutor. His job is to present his client's case as best he can in a court of law, and if has any pre-trial issues, he should take them up with the District Attorney or the court."
Brown has said publicly he thinks that prosecutors will succeed in their case against Stern and two doctors -- Sandeep Kapoor and Khristine Eroshevich -- for allegedly conspiring to supply the late Anna Nicole Smith with prescription drugs before her death.
Sadow confirmed to ET earlier Thursday that he was challenging Brown to a face-to-face meeting "anywhere, anytime," to talk about the "facts" of Stern's case. Sadow says the case would not have been filed against Stern were it not for Brown's possible plans to run for governor of California.
When asked, Sadow also reiterated that Stern has no plans to negotiate a plea deal in the case. "No -- dismissal or trial. There will be no plea negotiations because Howard has committed no crime -- he is innocent!"
