Bill Murray Tees Off, Hits Woman on Head

'Caddyshack' actor Bill Murray reportedly took to the golf course this weekend in sunny Tampa, Florida, but hooked a shot too far left thus hitting a woman on the head. Gayle DiMaggio, the victim of the wayward golf swing, had an interesting request of the actor.

DiMaggio only asked that Murray provide her with a signed copy of his golf comedy 'Caddyshack,' the Associated Press reports.

On Friday, the Florida resident said she was hit on the left temple with Murray's golf ball after she stood in her backyard to watch the first round of the Outback Pro-Am golf tournament. Luckily, she did not loose consciousness but did require stitches at the hospital, AP reports.

"[Murray] came over and laid down on the ground with me and he was very concerned, asking if I was OK," DiMaggio recounted the incident to the news agency. "Once he knew I was OK and not seriously hurt, then he started joking with me, asking how many fingers he was holding up."

On Saturday, Murray continued in the second round of the tournament, while DiMaggio looked on inside a screened area. Her friends and family stood in her yard wearing hard hats.

  • I used to looove Bill Murray. However, after seeing how unavailable he was to his fans at the Outback Pro Am, I don't think he's that great anymore. George Lopez, Mark Wahlberg & Michael J Fox on the other hand were GREAT!
