Did Diana Ross F**k Her Way To The Top??

There’s one thing for sure, and that is, when you’re in the public’s eye, YOU ARE NEVER SAFE, from the leaking of rumors or malicous truth.  Mark Ribowsky is releasing an unauthorized biography of Diana Ross and making some pretty harsh allegations in his account.

Via Singersroom:

A soon to be released unauthorized biography of Supreme Diva Diana Ross says the “Love Hangover” star rose to the top through bedding several executives at Motown in addition to giving her Supreme sisters, including Mary Wilson, the boot !

“The Diana Ross few knew outside of the Motown colony was on a fast track to rise to the top from the first day she got to Motown; not incidentally, that was also the first day she knew who she wanted to sleep with to keep up the momentum,” Mark Ribowsky writes in his unauthorized biography titled “The Supremes: A Saga of Motown Dream, Success and Betrayal”.

Due in stores this July, Ribowsky’s book makes it very clear that Ross was not only involved with Motown founder Berry Gordy but, only got to him after several other “in-house” romances.

But it was Ross’ alleged backstabbing and booting of Supreme members Mary Wilson and the late Florence Ballard that took the cake.

According to Ribowsky, Ross was guilty of “quietly twisting the knife in the other Supremes” as she rose to the top and in no time, Ross would climb beyond (the Supremes group) onto the A-list as a solo act, record six more Number 1 songs, and earn millions as well as top billing in two movies”.

At press time Ross, no Gordy had issued statements regarding the allegations inherent in the forthcoming unauthorized biography.

Mediaoutrage-  If true, it wouldn’t be something that shocked us, given that this sort of thing is still happening in the music industry and Hollywood.  “You want that leading actress role?  Get on them there knees young lady, and you better be better than that intern that hit Bill Clinton off.”  Two weeks later, that actress is announced as the leading lady in Star Wars IIIIIIIIIIVIIV

  • This is a book for the stupid, ignorant group who have nothing better to do than wallow in made-up mush so they can feel better about their own shallow lives.

  • If you remember any of this stuff then you have to be in your mid-fifties at the very least and if you're that old, or older, and still whining about this nonsense then please, grow up! If you're younger then why would you be interested? Give the woman some credit: that's been some career.

  • I've been a fan of Miss Ross's since Lady Sings the Blues and found her performance in the movie Spellbinding and Superb, and still to this day thinks she should've gotten the Oscar. Even though most say she slept her way to the top, she has proven that once she got there, she was able to hold her own. With little acting experience accept for minor television appearances on the Ed Sullivan Show as well as guest spots, she has made an impact on the Entertainment industry. In saying all of that, Diana does have a dark side and those who where at Motown during those times know exactly what that dark side is. She was very manipulative, calculating and instrumental with Berry Gordy in the demise of not only the most successful girl group of all time, but also the devastating demise of her sister singer Florence Ballard. Although Ross set up a trust fund for Florences little girls and also helped sister singer Mary Wilson during troubled time, this does not change the vengeful and deceptive behavior not only on her part but on Berry Gordy's part to thrust her into the limelight. Not to mention her own bitchy and rude behavior holding steadfast as a true Diva. Fast forward 30 years and Miss Ross, the Diva, has continued on that path of success but also on the path of those 30 year old rumors and making new ones along the way. Coined the most hated woman at Motown, the Kennedy Center honored her and out of all those who knew her at Motown, one showed up for her honor that night. Miss Ross had left so much bitterness behind that no one felt compelled to attend not only the Kennedy Center Honors, but none of the past recipient awards she has received over the years, with the exception of Berry Gordy at some events. The old cliche' is: "what goes around, comes around" and though Miss Ross is one of the most wealthiest and succesfull women in world, by no means is she a happy woman. With the likes of Mary Wilson and numerous books and reports about a woman who has changed a generation, Miss Ross will have to contend with the rumors and gossip until the curtain closes and she parts this earth.

  • Why didn't he write a book about Boy George?
That would be gauranteed to rake in the bucks. Unless of course...

  • Haters' only talent is hating. Her history speaks for itself. Ms. Ross just had what it took to make it. She's a class act.

  • How pathetically sad that this writer and his publishing company would resort to printing this type of drop dead garbage about Diana Ross. Only a fool and a complete hater of Diana Ross would even bother to read such tripe and lies. It is a known fact that Berry Gordy Jr. FIRST fell in love with Diana Ross' TALENT and then he fell in love with Diana Ross the woman. The Supremes had NINE single releases and they were basically all a resounding flop. Mr. Gordy had tried Mary Wilson and Florence Ballard as lead vocals on the trio's recordings before he tried Miss Ross' voice. The rest is history. 99% of the public knows the real Diana Ross life story and they also are aware that Diana Ross did not have to sleep with anyone to make it to the top. Miss Ross had the backbone, the will and the ability to continuously work hard to reach her goals. I hope and pray that this sleazy book will never see the light of day. Ribowsky and his publisher should be ashamed.

  • What sent Diana Ross to the top was the fact that millions of people bought her records, went to her concerts and watched her movies. What sent Diana Ross to the top of the chart? She worked hard, studied, and strived for perfection. THAT'S A STAR!

  • His comments on the Return toLove tour were wrong! It's just like in court - if you catch someone in a lie - then you throw out their entire testimony. I throw out this entire book. It's nothing but trash. Someone else trying to make money off of someone else's legacy and then putting tons of untruths in it for ill gotten gain.

I wouldn't read this book if you paid me.

  • Why do people keep hating on this woman. She is a legendary entertainer and mother. She's in her 60's. Can't we just enjoy her talent and let her live in peace. Why the negativity.Let's look at the real issue here. Why do women have to sleep their way to the top. If this happened,I'm sure she wasn't the only one. What about the ones that are less successful at it. Women shouldn't have to do that. to get to the top. Which is where Diana was for most of her career!
