Vanessa Hudgens is setting out to prove that true beauty comes from within.CBS Films -- which is currently producing the Untitled Crowley Project with Harrison Ford, Brendan Fraser and Keri Russell -- has announced its latest project with a female superstar in the lead. Following 'The Back-Up Plan' with Jennifer Lopez, 'Beastly' is a modern-day take on Beauty and the Beast, with Vanessa playing the role of the fair maiden.
Set in Manhattan, the movie tells the story of a handsome rich kid with a mean streak. When he ditches a date, a curse is placed upon him, turning him into everything he hates. The grotesque transformation leaves him with the seemingly impossible task of finding true love to break the ugly spell.
The film will shoot in summer 2009.
