Celebs React to Reported 'Slumdog' Child Sale

Sheryl Crow, Billy Zane and Anthony Edwards talked to ET about a report made by British tabloid News of the World claiming the father of 'Slumdog Millionaire' child actress Rubina Ali attempted to sell her.

"This [story] brings light to the tragedy of human trafficking," Zane told ET.

Though Rubina's father has denied claims of a child sale, News of the World is standing by its story. "We are entirely satisfied that our report in Sunday's newspaper is fair, true and accurate," the tabloid told ET.

  • I loved how Slumdog brought up these tough issues. I checked out the 's website, and it's leading the way on creating a campaign to reduce severe global poverty. Keep up the good work!

  • Slumdog did a great job of raising awareness of crucial global issues. The has good info on the estimated cost of ending global poverty:

$30 billion: Annual shortfall to end world hunger.

    $550 billion: U.S. Defense budget.
