Merlot by Martina

Martina McBride has joined with Blackbird Vineyards to create the Martina McBride signature series wine.  According to the vineyard's website, "the blend is 56 percent cabernet sauvignon, 38 percent merlot and 6 percent cabernet franc."

Whatever that means.  I'm not a wine sorta person so they lost be at blend, but the website does goes on to describe the wine a bit more, "the wine reveals luscious aromas of wild raspberries, black cherry, cassis, and smoky cedar. On the palate, jammy fruit flavors blend with cocoa and forest floor notes. This multi-layered wine provides great texture, displaying tight-grained tannins and a medium-long finish."

Teeheehee...jammy. 

Martina's obviously a bit more cultured than I am and says, "I've been able to taste incredible wines while traveling the world on tour.  I sampled Blackbird Vineyards' wines while on a trip to Napa Valley and loved them."

The wine will feature a stamp of Martina's autograph and is expected to be sold on her website.
