The 26-year-old singer Justin Timberlake, who is touring the UK, was staying at the swanky Lowry Hotel in Manchester when the unfortunate encounter took place.

My hotel spy says: "Justin left Jessica at the bar while he went to fetch something from their room but when he came back he had a cut above his eye and was in a foul mood.

"He told Jessica that some guy staying on the same floor had started hurling abuse, so he#1;,d given him a shove.

"But the guy threw a bottle of Coke down the corridor at him, hitting him square above the eye."

Family Guy actress Jessica Biel, left, asked Justin to calm down, but I'm told he was incredibly grumpy all night and he refused to sign any autographs for fans.

    Oh yeah. And like we all didn't see Justin getting beat up coming. SOMEONE had to do it sooner or later, and well...he just doesn't seem like the type to be landing...
