Even though she's a Brit, Amy Winehouse has all the makings of an American pop culture phenomenon. She's got tattoos to rival Angelina, a love of booze to beat Lindsay, and vocals to put just about every other singer out there to shame.  Amy's dysfunctional life may read like an E! True Hollywood Story, but the songstress has the talent to back it all up.

Amy first hit it big in her homeland in 2004 as a curvaceous and clean cut girl.  Since then, the soulful singer has achieved international stardom and numerous A-list celebrity fans.  She's also acquired armfuls of girlie tats, a hairstyle that looks like a dead octopus, and a cheating-boyfriend-turned-husband.

The troubled torch singer admits to multiple eating disorders, manic depression, and a nasty alcohol habit.  In other words, Amy lived the old adage of "fake it 'til you make it" by acting like a Hollywood celeb disaster to ultimately become one herself.
