Morning talk show host Regis Philbin took Earth Day seriously, dressing as the green ogre Shrek for his appearance on David Letterman's "Late Show" on Wednesday."Guess who I am?" Regis yelled as he entered the "Late Show" set. Regis called his decision to dress as Shrek a "big mistake," saying he spent over two hours preparing to look like the character only to be welcomed by a very unimpressed David.
The late-night host joked with Regis by saying, "Who cares? ... You just came over for the free coffee."
Regis appeared as the ogre to promote Broadway week on "Live! with Regis and Kelly."
