The Cheerleading Coach: Fired for Posing Nude

Carlie Beck's job as a cheerleading coach at a Calfornia high school was going nicely -- until it was discovered that she had posed nude for Playboy.com. Then controversy, as she was fired from her position after a parent reportedly complained to the school administration.

"I disagree with how it was handled," the 20-year-old Carlie tells Victoria Recano. "As far as I'm concerned, there's only really been a handful of parents who have been concerned."

"I've been shown a tremendous amount of support from many of the parents," she continues. "As for the parents who disagree with what I have done, they're entitled to their opinions, and I hope they know at least that any work that I have chosen to do outside of working with their children has in no way affected my job as a cheerleading coach."

Carlie says that her husband "has been so completely supportive through all of this" and that "he is just as upset as I am about being let go from my position. I think that he sees it the way I do, that posing for beautiful images should not be a reason to be let go from your employment."

She adds, "I see pornography or films like that to be completely different from what I have chosen do."

The men's magazine and Web site approached Carlie after this all went down, and she will now be Playboy's May 2009 Cybergirl of the month, with her new video going live this Friday.

"The media attention has actually been the most shocking," says Carlie. "That this is on the front page of newspapers in the United Kingdom is a little crazy."

As for her next move, Carlie says, "I am looking into some legal advice and seeing what my rights are. I want to make sure that what was done was legal. … I have been offered positions at other high schools as the cheerleading coach, but as of right now I'm kind of weighing my options."
