"The Insider" can confirm that Redmond, the son of Ryan O'Neal and Farrah Fawcett, will be required to participate in a yearlong intensive rehab program that will include in-custody time at a treatment facility. His program will also require frequent drug testing, a 12-step program and counseling, and will last a minimum of a year but could take longer.
If he completes the court mandates successfully, two counts against him will be dismissed, but if he fails, he could be sentenced to up to four years in jail. He is due back in court on May 28 for a progress report.
This program comes as a result of the young man pleading no contest to methamphetamine possession, related to a September 2008 arrest. At the time of that arrest, he was already on probation for after pleading guilty to a DUI charge in June 2008. Those two cases were combined and the drug court mandates come as a result.
Redmond pled not guilty yesterday on a third, drug-related charge and "The Insider" was in the courtroom. He is due back in court on May 22 in that case.

Ryan and Redmond O'Neal are being charged with a felony drug possession. Ryan says he is innocent, do you believe him?
