Met Costume Institute Gala: Best Dressed Models, discluding the ones that didn't show

I was surprised to see so many notable absences from the Supermodel era, namely Naomi, Linda and Christy.

Page Six reported that they chose not to attend simply because they knew they would be coerced to pose together, and they, well, hate each other.

But Naomi is offerring a different story. And this one I am more inclined to believe. After all, Christy and and Linda were besties back in the day and even lived together. And who couldn't possibly get along with bitch beating Naomi?

Naomi says she refused to go because her 'Papa' Azzedine was snubbed by the Costume Institute's exhibit (Naomi lived with Alaïa at the start of her career and has served as his muse most of his).

Seven models even asked Alaïa to make their dresses for the event, thus asserting his popularity among, and significance to, the subjects of the Met's new exhibit.

Although exhibit curator Harold Koda asserts that Anna Wintour has no involvement in curating the shows, Alaïa told the New York Times "she has too much power over this museum." Not to mention that Alaïa has received little attention from Vogue over the past fifteen years.

This really is a pity given that his shoes are amongst the most fabulous in the world. Anna really is out of touch these days.

Anyways, Claudia tried to make up for her peers' absences by showing off this Versace number. She was closely matched by the younger generation's efforts, which included Chanel Iman, Jessica Stam, and Molly Sims, who, although older, remains relevant regardless of her absence of work.
