Is Katie Holmes Afraid of the Dark?

Katie Holmes is gearing up to face her fears on the big screen.

The 30-year-old actress will star in the thriller 'Don't be Afraid of the Dark,' Variety reports.

'Don't Be Afraid of the Dark' is based on an ABC telepic from the 70's about a girl who moves in with her father and his girlfriend and finds that the house is haunted by demonic creatures, the trade paper says.

Holmes recently completed filming the comedy 'The Extra Man,' also starring John C. Reilly , and Kevin Kline.

  • The 70s version of "Don't be Afraid of the Dark" scared the bejeezus out of me when I was a kid. Very creepy movie. I'm curious if they mess up this version by concentrating on just special effects. Minor correction - the girl (Kim Darby) doesn't...
