Sporting curly locks and the same color hair and style that her mother once had, young daughter Olivia's resemblance to her mother is unmistakable. But what if she were the daughter John and Lorena nearly had?
"Well, I got pregnant and he made me have an abortion," Lorena says of her former husband John, whose manhood she famously cut off with a knife while he was sleeping in 1993. "He just criticized me, saying that I was Spanish and that the baby was going to be awful, basically saying you don't deserve to have a child and you have an abortion because it will be disfigured and ugly and that's terrible."
"Well, that is something I regret," admits John. "I wasn't ready to get married, to have a kid back then."
Olivia was present for Lorena and John's historic face-to-face 16 years after the shocking, headline-making event, but her mom refused to introduce her to her former husband. Instead, Lorena was looking for closure.
"I have a question for you: I regret what I did to you. Now, do you regret what you did to me?" she asks.
"Yeah, I wish I would have treated you differently," replies John. "I failed. I failed to love you the way I should have, and somewhere I got sidetracked and I wasn't thinking the way I should have and feeling the way I should have, being married."
"That means a lot to me -- I appreciate you apologizing. That really means a lot to me," says Lorena.
"I'm glad we had this talk," says John.
A handshake and an awkward hug later, the former tempestuous couple go their separate ways.
"Good luck to you John, I wish you the best," says Lorena.

It is a fact that gets little air time, the physical and emotional scars and affects of abortion . .
However awkward, obviously some healing has started for these two - forgiveness is the first step. I pray they find peace and happiness in this world and in the one to come. R
