The network said Thursday it has ordered 13 episodes of "Modern Life," starring Ty Burrell, Ed O'Neill and Julie Bowen. The announcement comes two weeks before ABC and other networks unveil their schedules for the 2009-10 season.
ABC's early word on "Modern Life" is a sign that the show has solid network support and that comedy may be in for a rebound on TV.
