Kelly Rutherford Prepares

With only a month left, Gossip Girl actress Kelly Rutherford has been finishing the preparations for her second child, a baby girl. She told CBB/People that the nursery “is decorated super cute, but…simple.” Her nursery is stocked with all the usual baby necessities like a crib and changing table, plus her favorite baby products like Seventh Generation Diapers.

For when the baby girl arrives, Kelly also has plans for how she will raise her daughter. Just like how she was always present for her son, she will follow the same advice for her daughter. Her technique developed from observance of her mother.

“My mom was very open with us and treated us when we were kids with so much respect for what we had to say and listened to us,” Kelly told CBB/People. ”I think especially when they are little to take the time … to listen and explain I think they don’t go through so many dramas in the terrible twos or the teens.”

Before the newborn girl arrives, Kelly is now working on preparing her toddler, son Hermes Gustaf Daniel, for the role of big brother.
