"We are troubled by the untruthful and self-serving information circulating regarding Kiefer Sutherland…" the actor's lawyers said in a statement. "We are confident, however, that the investigation being conducted by the Manhattan District Attorney's Office and the NYPD will confirm that Kiefer Sutherland was neither the instigator nor a wrongdoer in this incident. Out of respect for this law enforcement process, Kiefer Sutherland will not be making any comment."
This statement comes after reports surfaced that the actor allegedly headbutted McCollough, a Proenza Schouler designer. McCollough's rep tells "The Insider" that the fashion designer sustained a broken nose as a result of the alleged attack, which he says left McCollough's nose broken in three places.
Officials say the actor has a summons for June 22 in Manhattan Criminal Court, after being charged with assault in the third degree.
