Miss California Retains Her Crown

Miss USA pageant chief Donald Trump says Miss California USA, Carrie Prejean, will retain her crown despite semi-nude photos of her that recently emerged. 

Prejean, 21, failed to divulge before last month's Miss USA pageant that she had posed in her underwear as a teenager and the photos were made public.

In announcing his decision, Trump said the pageant had determined that the pictures taken "were acceptable -- they were fine.

Prejean also sparked controversy when she answered a pageant judge's question by saying she believes marriage should be between only a man and a woman.
Officials of the Miss California USA pageant had criticized some of Prejean's actions but said it was not up to them to decide whether she should be stripped of her crown.

  • The Judge: freedom of speech here, mean just that freedom to say what you think and believe without prereciprocation or finding a mean of taking the crown from her, that is taking matter into you own hand, be a mockery

  • i believe that the decision of Mr. Trump was the most appropriate decision that should be given. The situation in which Ms. Prejean was put through was indeed sickening in away that almost all the people in this country has judge her somehow , but in the end we may not agree with her opinions but we as a people should respect them. Hence the outcome of the said controversy was handle in a very good way

  • I WATCHED HER PRESS CONFERENCE AND SHE DID A GOOD JOB OF TRYING TO "TWIST" WHAT THE ISSUES WERE.....THEY WERE NOT THERE TO DECIDE IF SHE COULD KEEP HER CROWN BECAUSE OF THE GAY MARRIAGE QUESTION....SHE WAS THERE BECAUSE SHE LIED ON HER APPLICATION ABOUT NUDE PICS....OH AND SHE LIED TO THE COMMITTEE ABOUT WHEN THE PICS WERE TAKEN....SHE'S A LIAR AND BECAUSE OF THAT SHE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO STILL REPRESENT MISS CALIFORNIA........PATHETIC.......

  • thank god that Mr trump has the good sense to over rule the idiots on that panel.. i also believe marriage should only be between a man and woman. As for any pictures the members of that panel should wake up. They probably all looked at those pic. when they came out and thought they were great.

  • Freedom of speech won today. A question was asked and answered at a beauty pageant. There should be no fear of retribution for Carrie's response. It shows her inner character and beauty. That's why beauty pageants exist. And as far as photos- Miss California possesses exquisite God-Given beauty, HOT, HOT, HOT!!! I don't think you should try to indicate that Donald Trump made a mistake in this decision. Happy Birthday Carrie, a day early. I LOVE YOU 4EVER SW
