Christian Bale on His Fearless Four-Year-Old

Christian Bale's 'Terminator Salvation' blasts its way into theaters May 21, and there are sure to be some scary, hair-raising moments onscreen, but the 35-year-old star says that his young daughter was unfazed by the apocalyptic scenario when she would visit the set.

"She's not scared of anything," Christian tells our own Samantha Harris about his Emmaline coming face-to-face with the killer robots. "She enjoys coming to visit the sets and she got to play around with the Terminator models and everything like that."

When it comes to explaining just what he does for a living, Christian says the four-year-old "is getting a good understanding of the fact that her dad plays dress-up for a living. And that's how I explain it to her; she dresses up as Darth Vader, she dresses up as Yoda, you know, and I say, 'That's all I do, that's it -- I do exactly the same as you do with your friends.'"

"I insist that we're together as much as possible," says Christian of his daughter with wife Sibi Blazic, adding that with her on-set lifestyle, "Man, she's getting experiences that she never had before."

In 'Terminator: Salvation,' Christian plays an adult John Connor facing off with machines in a post-apocalyptic 2018. A mysterious stranger named Marcus (Sam Worthington) appears on the scene, and John must figure out whether he is from the future or the past as they find common ground in order to try to defeat the machines that threaten humanity's existence.
