Robin Williams Shows Heart at 'Museum' Premiere

Back in action after being sidelined for heart surgery, 'Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian ' star Robin Williams was in fine form at the film's premiere at the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum in Washington D.C., joking about his new lease on life!

"Eight weeks ago when I came out of surgery I said, 'You know what I'm looking forward to? Smithsonian,'" he jokes. "It's good to be here."

Co-stars Owen Wilson, Amy Adams and Hank Azaria had kind words to say about Robin being back on his feet and attending the premiere, as did Ben Stiller, who said, "He's an amazing guy and I'm very happy that he's here. I don't think anything can really keep him down."

In 'Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian,' Robin and Owen return as Teddy Roosevelt and cowboy Jedediah opposite Ben's nervous night watchman, who has the difficult task of keeping the museum exhibits in line when they come to life at night. This time, the action moves to the Smithsonian, where new characters from history -- including Amy as lost aviatrix Amelia Earhart, Hank as the villainous Egyptian pharaoh Kahmunrah, Christopher Guest as Russian tyrant Ivan the Terrible, Alain Chabat as Napoleon -- and even Darth Vader -- create chaos once the sun sets.

"When I walk in here I feel like I'm five; you look around and see so much history," says Robin about the immense museum. "There are so many exhibits in here that I can spend two days just walking around."

The 'Battle' begins in conventional theaters and IMAX everywhere May 22.

  • I agree, the Smithsonian is fantastic. I got lost (when i was 5) in the airplane room. Was rooted to the ground, looking up (agape) at the airplanes hanging from the ceiling. My family kept walking. I just sat on a bench and looked at the planes...
