Teri Hatcher gets daughter to gamble

The Desperate Housewives star takes 11-year-old Emerson Rose and her own mother to horse racing to celebrate Mother’s Day each year.

And she insisted it was an educational experience.

She said: "I got to the track with my mother and my daughter.

"I do use the opportunity to make her understand math, and what you’re betting and what you get back.

"This year, she did all the winning. She picks by the names. She starts with $100 and she won $28 on the first race. I said, ‘You could quit now and you could go home with $28 .’ And she didn’t.

"By the end, she had $8. She had $108. So we work on math. It’s fun."
