This film looks to be a biggie, not exactly musical fans here, but with the weighty talented line up of this film, it could be very big indeed and essential viewing if you are a Cruz fan.
The cast includes none other than Penelope Cruz along with Fergie, Judi Dench, Marion Cotillard, Daniel Day Lewis and also Nicole Kidman, thats an A Lister line up if ever there was. The story is basically about a director called Guido played by Day-Lewis who has to juggle the many women in his life, and you could say it has a similar theme to the recent Woody Allen film that Penelope Cruz starred in and won an Oscar by the name of “Vicki Christina Barcelona” which we rated as a 4 star film.
Penelope Cruz had to practice for months with intense dance classes to do this routine and achieve the desired result, with her quoted by the Daily Mail earlier this year as saying “I couldn’t stop crying”, it was hell and agony and she was left in a bruised state afterwards. All in the name of film making!
Nine is due to be released in the UK and USA on 25 November 2009.
