AP source: CBS will try 4 new dramas next year

NEW YORK (AP) — Julianna Margulies, Jenna Elfman, Christopher O'Donnell and LL Cool J are among the actors in new series given the go-ahead for CBS' schedule next season.

A person close to CBS' pick-up process says the network will put on six new series next season. Four of them are dramas, including a spinoff of the popular "NCIS" series that includes LL Cool J and O'Donnell.

CBS has a Miami-based crime series, and next season will have a medical action series there. Another drama tells the story of organ donations.

The network's only new comedy features Elfman. It's about a 39-year-old woman who gets pregnant after a one-night stand.

The source spoke on condition of anonymity because the person was not authorized to speak about CBS' new schedule. It is officially announced Wednesday.
