Producer Jeffrey Richards says the author of the Tony-winning "August: Osage (OH'-sage) County" will return to New York with a new play, "Superior Donuts."
The production, directed by Tina Landau (LAN'-dow), will open Oct. 1. Its cast and theater will be announced.
"Superior Donuts" had its world premiere last summer at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre. The Chicago cast included Michael McKean, who played the owner of rundown doughnut shop in the city's Uptown neighborhood.
Meanwhile, "August: Osage County" is continuing its run at Broadway's Music Box Theatre.
