Last night was the premiere of the smash summer hit, So You Think You Can Dance, and the show kicked off with some good old fashion controversy. It all began when two ballroom dancers, Misha and Mitch, performed their routine together. This marked the first time men have danced together on the show in a romantic fashion. (Although Mitch is straight). The judges didn't quite respond how the two had hoped, stating that the same sex pairing was confusing and distracting. Producer Nigel Lythgoe seemed particularly annoyed and suggested that both get female partners.
