Billy Bob Thornton's oldest daughter was arrested Friday in Florida in connection with the death of a child she was babysitting in October.

According to a report from the Ocoee Police Department, Amanda Brumfield was arrested and charged with neglect of child causing harm or disability.

Brumfield told the authorities that the young girl she was babysitting hit her head after falling in her home. She called for medical assistance 2 ½ hours later after she was unsuccessful in reviving the child.

The autopsy showed that the child suffered a fractured skull and a brain injury. The Medical Examiner's Office ruled the manner of death a homicide.

The 29-year-old was taken to the Ocoee Police Department in Florida and later transported to the Orange County Booking and Receiving Center. Bond was posted in the amount of $2500 and she was released on Saturday.

A rep for Billy Bob Thornton tells "The Insider" that the actor is estranged from Brumfield and has not had contact with her in quite some time.

After being told about the situation Thornton commented that, "Anytime a baby's life is lost is an unimaginable tragedy and my heart goes out to the baby's family and loved ones."
