Billy Bob Thornton's daughter charged in death of child

Wow, this is an unbelievably sad story.

Billy Bob "Don't Call Me An Actor" Thornton's estranged daughter, Amanda Brumfield, has been formerly charged with child neglect after a baby she was babysitting died.

Brumfield, 29, claims that the child died after falling out of it's crib, but reportedly didn't call an ambulance for two and a half hours.

Despite the claim that it was an accident, medical examiners in Ocoee, Florida, ruled the death a homicide.  A spokesman for the Police Department said, "It's not believable that a one year old can balance themselves on a railing. We do believe her head hit a hard object but you would either have to fall harder or hit something with more force than a 28-inch playpen fall."

Brumfield was released on bail.

When asked for a comment, Billy Bob released a statement saying, "Mr. Thornton is estranged from Amanda and has had no contact with her for quite some time."

He went on to say, "Any time a baby's life is lost is an unimaginable tragedy and my heart goes out to the baby's family and loved ones."
