Universal City in California Twilight The Teen Vampire Movie was up for 7 gongs at the MTV Movie Awards and Slumdog Millionaire was up for 6, Twilight stole the show whilst slumDog came away empty handed.
Good news for Twilight fans with the Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart combo proving a difficult one to beat. They scooped up 5 of the possible 7 awards they were nominated for and that is incredibly good going indeed at this event.
Kristen Stewart grabs the headline for this event with awards to her for “Best Female
Performance” and also the “best Kiss” award between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in Twilight. Kristen Stewart renowned for her nervousness and cool and distant behaviour gave her speech and dropped the award half way through and said “So I was just about as awkward as you thought I was going to be!”. Ashley Tisdale clinched the Breakthrough Performance Female Award, and Miley Cyrus won the Best song from a Movie. Live performances included Kings of Leon, who played “Use Somebody” and Eminem, who made his massive public return with a medley that included the new single “Crack a Bottle” from his new album, Relapse. Sacha Baron Cohen made it grand entrance suspended from the stage ceiling in assless chaps and angel wings and ended up falling into Eminems lap which he wasn’t too happy about and ended up marching out of the auditorium. We love MTV Awards, never a dull moment, the after parties are even better!
The Red Carpet Award for Best Dressed Female Star for this event is “hands in the air”
haven’t got a clue. Went through all the names on the list and the words very nice, very
nice, very nice were muttered endlessly, very hard to pick one in particular although a lot
of the media are going for Megan Fox who was looking very wow, and a very classy and mature Miley Cyrus, but for us they all looked “very nice”!, no disasters here!
The big news of this event is the Twilight sequel “New Moon” first showing of the trailer,
essential viewing for Pattinson and Stewart fans, this one is supposed to be even better
than the first and it was shown at this event and is featured in our next post!
